Tested The Evil Within 2!

Sebastian Castellano, still remember the name of this character?
Yes this name may be familiar to the fans of survival horror genre. The main character of the franchise The Evil Within is back to save his kidnapped daughter and trapped in the dream world. The distinctive gripping adventure of Evil Within 1 is back again in this second series with some refinements.

departing from The Evil Within 1 that puts on a gripping atmosphere and iconic monsters, The Evil Within 2 brings several significant changes that will make your sleep time decrease. Telling the time after TEW1, Sebastian had to face the fact that his daughter had died in his burning house. After passing through the depressive phase and turning to alcohol, Kidman returns to Sebastian's life only to tell that his daughter is still alive in the dreamland, and the only way to save her daughter is by working with Mobius.

Not only is the story more complex, the increase also occurs on the charts. Tango Gameworks succeeded in building a world of dreams that are very gripping with a beautiful world design and lighting games that add tension. TEW2 also embraces the open world system with a larger map, even claimed about 10 times that of the TEW1 world.

Music and Sound Design

If we talk about Horror movie, of course the most important atmosphere is sound and soundtrack. Without a supportive soundtrack and vocal sounds, a horror movie may just be the display of creepy creatures without any tension and alertness.

Shinsaku Ohara explained that they did not want to play with this TEW2 and decided to entrust the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra as the soundtrack of TEW2. The recording process itself was conducted for 10 days in Prague and directly supervised by Tango team in Japan through live camera system. Environmental voices also help to build a horror mood. We suggest you turn off the lights and wear headphones to get a better playing experience.

Solid Impression

You could say TEW2 is a very neat improvement from TEW1. Although Tango itself mentioned that this game will be played and enjoyed directly without you need to enjoy the first series, but from our impressions, it seems rational to at least try out TEW1 first. At least you will be more familiar with some characters that had been introduced before, such as Kidman, Tatiana, to Mobius itself.
