EA Ready to Buy Titanfall Developer, Respawn Entertainment
Respawn Entertainment will soon belong to EA.
Today Electronic Arts announced that they are ready to buy Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, which is still an indie studio and only works with EA.
Reported by Venture Beat, the studio founded by former members of Infinity Ward is valued EA for 455 million dollars. EA will pay the first 151 million dollars as a sign so they, 164 million dollars for long-term employees of Respawn Entertainment's salary. And if their performance increases until 2022, then the EA will add 140 million dollars to them as a bonus. The transfer agreement will expire at the end of 2017 as written on press releases today.
Along with the announcement, Respawn Entertainment said that they are currently working on three new video game projects, one of which is a Star Wars game that is changed direction by EA, a VR Game, and the latest Titanfall franchise. Vince Zampella as CEO of Respawn Entertainment says that they want to make bigger and better video games, therefore they need more resources (both material and human resources, red) to achieve their dreams.
