Marc-Oliver Dion and 7 friends who are students of UQAC (University of Quebec in Chicoutimi) were given 8 weeks to create a reboot of the classic game on NES. Contra 2028 became the result of the hard work of these 8 students.
Being rebooted from Konami's classic shoot-em-up platfomer game in 1987, Contra 2028 put some exciting features such as slow motion and slide boost that both seem to be inspired by the third-person shooter game of Platinum Games - Vanquish.
In this game you are assigned to protect certain objects while surviving the alien horde that continues to come in each wave. In short this is Killing Floor but instead of zombies with aliens and first-person perspective with third-person.
Due to the short manufacturing time, the game does not have so much content and not so much detail on aspects of animation and mechanics. But this game is released for free for you can try. For those of you who are interested, you can visit this game website directly here.
